Alice Snow (nee Smith)

Alice Irene Smith was named after her mother’s grandmother: Selena Cora "Alice" Farmer; and her father’s mother: Maudine “Irene” Landford.  Alice never knew her father as her birth parents were never married and he was not there.  She was raised by her mother and her grandmother, Wilma was a constant presence in her life as well.  Alice was raised attending a Southern Baptist Church and grew up to follow her mother’s example of working with children in the Nursery at church, and vacation Bible School during the summer.  She loved the various pets she owned, hamsters and dogs mostly.  Alice was a great home-cook and passed both loves on to her daughter and grandchildren.  She was a stay-at-home mother who never formally worked outside the home.  She had smoked for many years, developed diabetes, and after her heart attack gave up smoking.  A year after her heart attack, and subsequent quadruple by-pass, she underwent a carotid artery surgery that caused a stroke and the paralysis of her left side.  Though she struggled greatly with her health issues she remained the example of courage to her family in not giving up and ever concerned for others.  David and Alice Snow were the parents of only one child, a daughter named:

   (1.) Elizabeth Rebecca Snow
